Wanna check out Brad Pitt's pants?
Forget all the red carpet gowns and tuxes. The real prizes of the ‘07 awards season are the costumes worn in nominated films. And that’s what you’ll see – up close and personal - at a new exhibit, “And the winner is” co-hosted by The Envelope and the Hollywood Museum. Major kudos to Tom O’Neil, The Envelope’s ultimate awards expert, for working closely with (okay, maybe even begging and cajoling) Disney, Fox Searchlight, Miramax, New Line, Paramount, Paramount Vantage Sony, Sony Pictures Classic and Warner Bros to make this exhibit happen.
The exhibit features costumes from ten current Oscar-nominated films such as those worn by Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Rinko Kikuchi in “Babel” as well as the red dress Adrianna Barraza wears in the movie’s joyous wedding and tragic desert scenes. Also curtsy-worthy: outfits from "The Queen" worn by Helen Mirren and Sylvia Syms (as the Queen Mum). Worth saluting: Ken Watanabe's “Letters from Iwo Jima” military garb; Idi Amin's (aka Forest Whitaker) general’s uniform from "The Last King of Scotland." Worth a second glance: Penelope Cruz's “Volver” attire; Scarlett Johansson and David Bowie's outfits from "The Prestige"; Kate Winslet's clothes from "Little Children." Worth singing about: the fabulous flashy dance duds worn by the Step Sisters' in "Dreamgirls."(more)
