Angelina Has a New Publicist?

Jolie now finally has a publicist. Her new spokesman's philanthropic credentials are verified by his public relations work at such as the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. Trevor Nielson is a weighty asset. Trevor Nielson recently spoke to People Magazine for Jolie and was reverentially id'd as her "philanthropy and international affairs" adviser.(SOURCE)

Brad and Leo At Odds Again

As I reported earlier Brad's Plan B lost the rights to The Wolf of Wall Street to Leo's Appian Way production company. Well today TMZ is reporting that the two megastars are set to duke it out again over a project. This time it's a documentary called Maxed Out, which was helmed by controversial director Morgan Spurlock, the brains behind the hit Supersize Me:

A well-placed TMZ source says that a Plan B rep contacted Scurlock's agent expressing how Pitt really enjoyed the docu's companion book, 'Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders.'

TMZ has learned that shortly after Plan B's call, Scurlock's reps were contacted by DiCaprio's production shingle, Appian Way Productions, who revealed the same interest in the documentary. Hunky see, hunky do!

So far nothing's been finalized. However Dicaprio's rep denied the story:

"This story is bull. It sounds like someone is creating a bidding war to try and make a buck."

Brad's company had no comment. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Angelina's Documentary to Open Film Festival?

Cinematical.com is reporting that A Moment in the World, a documentary produced and directed by Angelina Jolie might make it's debut on the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival:

As far as what will open, my source tells me that the Angelina Jolie-helmed doc A Moment in the World might be sliding into that spot. Apparently, the documentary sent 30 film crews to different parts of the world in order to capture events unfolding during the same three-minute time period. Ever wonder what's going on in Dubai while you sit on your couch picking your nose? No? Well, Angelina Jolie is about to show you. I don't mean to rag, it actually seems like a pretty cool idea -- and it would be smart for Tribeca to open with this film as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the same place at the same time draw more press than a pantiless Britney, an emotionless Hilton and a humorless Mel Gibson combined.(SOURCE)

Jesse Metcalfe Disagrees with Brad's Choices

Jesse Metcalfe believes Brad Pitt was unfair to let his interest in design override everything else when it came to selecting furniture for his home with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

Before checking himself into rehab last week, Jesse told OK magazine: “I read an interesting interview with Jennifer Aniston once in which she said that Brad Pitt was into interior design and furniture but that it drove her crazy that there wasn’t a comfortable sofa in the house.”

“I would never do that. I like the things I like, but if it meant my woman would be more comfortable in my house if she made some changes, then change away.”

Brad and Angelina's Kidnap Threat?

According to Life & Style Brad and Angelina's security team thwarted a plot to abduct little Pax. a source reportedly told the mag that the threat was credible and planned "meticulously" by a dangerous street gang. The source goes on to say:

They're highly skilled operatives with little regard for human life. Information came out that leaders of the gang ordered their L.A. members to devise a plan to kidnap Pax before demanding a ransom of $100 million -- equal to the profit from a year of drug dealing -- for his safe return. Brad and Angie would have a number of days to hand over the money or risk the boy's life.(SOURCE)

Easter Wedding For Brangelina?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning an Easter Caribbean wedding, it has been reported.

The Hollywood couple fell in love with the Dominican Republic during a recent holiday and have allegedly decided it is the perfect place for their nuptials.

A source told Britain's OK! magazine: "While they were in the Dominican Republic, Brad bought a huge plot of land and helped design a fabulous house.

"It's there they intend to become Mr and Mrs Pitt."

Brad, 43, and Angelina, 31 - who have three adopted children, Pax Thien, Maddox and Zahara, and a daughter Shiloh together - are expected to fly out to the exotic country in the next two weeks and want the ceremony to be a "family affair".

The source added: "Pax and Maddox are old enough to be page boys and it's always been Angie's dream that this wedding will be a true family affair."

Brad recently ruled out getting married until "everyone else in the US who wants to be married is legally able".

Angelina has also avoided the issue in the past saying: "We've both been married before so it's not marriage that necessarily kept some people together. We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that's the most important thing."

Brad was previously married to Jennifer Aniston, their divorce was finalised in October 2005.

Angelina has two failed marriages to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

Actor Irfan Khan talks About A Mighty Heart and Brad and Angelina

Indian Acton Irfan Khan was recently interviewed by ScreenIndia.com and he discussed several topics including filming A Mighty Heart and whether or not Angelina and Brad will ever return to India:

How’s The Mighty Heart shaped up?
I’ll know only after I see the rough cut. I’m leaving for UK at the end of the month for some sound work. It was a very difficult film because it’s based on a novel inspired by the assasination of American journalist Daniel Pearl by the Taliban in 2002. You can compress a lot of information into a novel and play with different characters but to translate that in a film is a real challenge. Michael Winterbottom is an interesting director because he doesn’t structure or shoot his film in the regular way. He’s one of the reasons I accepted The Mighty Heart apart from the subject, the role and the producers. You have to make a lot of sacrifices for these films because you can complete three Hindi films in the time you give a Hollywood producer and are paid one-third the amount. I waited six months for The Namasake to take off...

Will Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie return to India again?
I can’t answer that because even if I go ask them, which I won’t since it doesn’t concern me, they’d probably say, “India’s great” and I can’t peep into their hearts to see what they’re actually feeling. But they’re mature people who’ve seen the world and are probably trying to uncover the truth about what happened and why it did.(SOURCE)
According to Variety the film opens June 22.

Angelina's Brother confirms She's Not Eating?

According to Fametastic UK James Haven confirmed to the Daily Mail that Angelina lost a lot of weight since the loss of their mother Marcheline Bertrand in January:

Angie has become very thin because she’s grieving. It’s even difficult for her to eat. I keep saying to her, ‘Don’t forget to eat’ But you know she doesn’t pay much attention to food anyway and she’s been going through a process of grief like me. She has not wanted to eat, nor has she been able to.

He also adds that Marcheline was a huge inspiration to Angelina as mother:

There was very much that home feeling when we came back from school. Angie and I would walk in and comment on how we could smell things cooking and baking in the kitchen. My mum was methodical in making sure we did our homework perfectly. She would do outlines to help us. When we were younger, she used flash cards. Or she’d be in the middle of cooking and pick up a carrot and teach us about the vegetable or the fruit so that it was visual as well. Angie is now the same with her kids. (SOURCE)

The Tale of Angelina's New Son

The boy whom the world would know as Pax Thien Jolie was brought to the Tam Binh orphanage when he was one month old after being abandoned by his mother at Tu Du obstretics hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. "His mother gave birth and left immediately," said Nguyen Van Trung, director of orphanage. Hospital authorities put up notices and tried to search for the mother for 30 days but no one showed up. So he was placed in the orphanage, which was provided with a police report of attempts to find his birth parents, as is standard practice in Vietnam.

The child was known at the orphanage as Pham Quang Sang. Pham is a fairly common family name in Vietnam; the second two given names together mean "bright light." No one at the orphanage seemed to know for sure — the name was on his file when he arrived at the orphanage — but the name may be the only thing his birth mother left to him. It is standard practice for Vietnamese hospitals to require women in labor to provide proposed names for the child, one for a boy and a second for a girl, in case the mother dies in childbirth. The practice is a legacy of the hard years of famine and poverty after the war when women more often died in childbirth.

As it happened, according to Trung, when the actress Angelina Jolie applied to Vietnam through an agency asking for a healthy boy between ages 3 and 5, Pax happened to be the only one at Tam Binh orphanage who met the criteria. There were 31 other boys the same age, but all of them had relatives or were not "healthy." "Only Sang met the set criteria for adoption in general and her request," Trung said. "She was lucky at the time she applied that there was this boy who met the request and criteria." (Vietnam's national adoption director says that he prepared 10 dossiers of boys, including those at other orphanages, in response to Jolie's original application and criteria.)

"In past years, we have received so many applications for adoptions but few children really meet with the requirements," Tam Binh's director Trung continues. "In so many cases, they are not totally or really abandoned — they still have parents out there and sometimes even other family who come to visit them. For example, the mother may have been sent to jail or is in a mental institution, or the parents may have leprosy — so we cannot let them go." Some of the children also have physical or mental handicaps that make them harder to place. In the end, only about 30% of Tam Binh's children eventually get adopted. The same situation applies to the rest of the country's orphanages. In fact, in the group picture of Tam Binh orphans that circulated shortly after the adoption took place, the boy who is now Pax Thien Jolie was the only child in the portrait who was eligible for adoption, according to Trung. "None of the others in the photo are slated for adoption."

Trung describes Pax Thien (a name in two languages, the Latin for "peace" and the Vietnamese for "sky") as a bright and amiable boy, though with a tendency to be laughing one moment and then turning suddenly shy, as he apparently did when he started crying when he met Jolie on the day he was adopted. "It's common for ophans to be shy. When they play in a group or team, he's very active, but shy once separated."

One person who will especially miss Pax is Bui Thi Bach Tuyen, who was his primary caretaker for the last 18 months (the orphanage has about 15 caretakers at any given time for the 153 children who are Pax's age). Wandering around the orphanage dormitories, Ms. Tuyen points out the small now empty bed that Pax slept in in the corner of the room. "He was here, and now he's gone," she says sadly. "I'm very happy for him. I miss him and so I am sad — but we have other children to take care of." She adds, "Everyone is sad since he's left," Tuyen says. "We have mixed feelings — happy, proud of him, missing him."

Ms. Tuyen says she didn't have time during the brief ceremony to coach Jolie on how Pax should be fed, but she's not worried that Pax will have trouble adjusting to the food in America, since he already eats some Western-style food. "Sang loves to eat yogurt and spaghetti." (Unlike most east Asians, many Vietnamese eat locally made yogurt, a legacy of French colonialists.) "He's very clever and I hope he has a good life. We just hope he will return to visit us. But we don't know," says Tuyen.

Vietnam's rules of adoption call for Jolie to send the orphanage regular reports and photos of Pax's progress. "For Sang's case," says Trung, Tam Binh's director, "she is required to send a report every six months updating us about his health, mental development, hobbies — and a photo," says Trung. "It's required for the first three years. After three years, it's not required because we can see if the kids are being taken care of for the first three years so we can be assured they are in the good home."

If Jolie had not whisked him from the orphanage to instant fame, Pax Thien most likely would have ended up being adopted by another, probably foreign, family, because of the intense overseas demand. "At present, there are more [foreign] requests for adoptions than there are eligible children for adoptions," says Vu Duc Long, head of Vietnam's International Adoption Department, which is part of the Ministry of Justice. "There is more demand than supply." Last year, 163 U.S. parents adopted Vietnamese children, making Vietnam the 14th most popular adoption source. (China is number 1 with more than 6,000 U.S. adoptions in the same period.)

Ho Thi Kim Thoa, who is second-in-charge at the orphanage, remembers the first day Jolie and her partner, the actor Brad Pitt, visited last November bearing toys and playing with children. She didn't know at the time she was in the presence of two of the world's biggest superstars. Asked if she did not notice that the woman playing with the children back then was exceptionally beautiful, Thoa shrugged and said "she was dressed normally and wasn't wearing any make-up, I guess." Thoa adds, "We considered her as just another guest giving charity at that time and had no idea she might adopt from here."

What Thoa does remember is Jolie's ease with the children then — and now that she knows more about about the boy's new mother, she says has no worries about his future. "I think she'll be a good mother to him," she says. "She already has experience." (SOURCE)

Brad and Angelina Donate to Lost Boys Clinic in Sudan

Direct Change, an organization that builds grassroots financial support for community based African projects, announced today it has received a $100,000 donation from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Jolie-Pitt Foundation to support the final construction and ongoing operations for the first modern medical facility in Duk County, Sudan. The Duk Lost Boys Clinic, scheduled to open later this spring serving more than 150,000 people, is the dream and brainchild of John Dau, the Director of Direct Change's Sudan Project and one of the "Lost Boys of Sudan" featured in the film God Grew Tired of Us. The Clinic is located in the war-torn village he fled during an attack from the northern Khartoum regime.

"Words can not express my gratitude and gratitude of the people of Duk County Sudan," said John Dau. "Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt demonstrate the American spirit of generosity. Hopefully, their donation will inspire others to join with us to rebuild southern Sudan," Dau added.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, an Executive Producer of Christopher
Quinn's film God Grew Tired of Us, learned of John's effort to build the
Duk Lost Boys Clinic at the Hollywood premiere of the film in January. The film, a National Geographic Production, is distributed by Newmarket Films and is showing in theaters around the country.(SOURCE)

The Tehuacan Project to be releasedon DVD March 20

While browsing the web I came across this website dedicated to this remarkable short film, which follows the lives of students at Casa Del Niño Sordo in Mexico. Upon reading the credits, I was surprised to find out that this 17 minute film was produced by Brad Pitt. Here is a brief synopsis:

The Casa Del Niño Sordo is Mexico's only school for deaf children. Located in Tehuacán, Puebla, the school was founded in 2001 to provide auditory, educational and emotional support for deaf children that would otherwise be unavailable. Many individuals, as well as service organizations, came together to make sure every child who needed help received not only hearing aids and education, but also a place to be accepted as they are today, and the opportunity for a brighter future tomorrow.

Young Lucia and Jesus, both deaf from preventable childhood disease, find their way to Tehuacán, Mexico where their dream for a life of sound might come true at Mexico's first school for the deaf.

The film is narrated by Adrien Brody and Esai Morales in both English and Spanish respectively. Andy Lauer, an Emmy nominated director, as at the helm and the movie also features music by Jackson Browne.(SOURCE)

Angelina Jolie is Wanted!

Universal Pictures has set Angelina Jolie to star alongside James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman in Wanted, the graphic novel adaptation to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov. The movie will be Jolie's next, with shooting to begin in Eastern Europe in May.

McAvoy will play a young man who discovers his father is an assassin, only to learn shortly thereafter that his dad has been murdered. The youth is drafted to follow in his father's footsteps. Jolie will play an assassin who teaches the ropes to the wannabe killer.

The script was originated by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, and Jolie took the role after a rewrite by Dean Georgaris (Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life) to tailor the character for her.

Marc Platt, Jim Lemley, Jason Netter and Iain Smith will produce.

The deal marks the second recent Universal commitment for Jolie, who'll star this fall for director Clint Eastwood in drama The Changeling, to be produced by Imagine Entertainment partners Brian Grazer and Ron Howard and Malpaso's Rob Lorenz.(SOURCE)

Read more about the plot here.

I don't know how true this is. Angelina very recently made statements saying that she planned to take some time off. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

INSIDE THE WORLD OF BRANGELINA'S BROOD

HOLLYWOOD star Angelina Jolie put her arms around the shy toddler and whispered the Vietnamese phrase, "Khong sao dau, khong sao dau".

These words of comfort, meaning "no problem, no problem", were the first that newly-adopted three-year-old Pax Thien Jolie would hear from the stranger who was now his mum.

Today, Pax is adapting to an A-list life in America with a world-famous father in Brad Pitt and his three new brothers and sisters.

Pax might have been bashful in the orphanage, but staff say that he got on well with the other children there, so he should have few problems when introduced to his new siblings.

They also say that he is football mad - which should please new dad Brad who last year told the Mirror that how he wanted enough children to form a "soccer team".

And the youngster, whose favourite food is fried noodles and yoghurt, has started learning English - he can already count from one to 10 for his new mum. But what else awaits him?

Stepping into Brad and Angelina's life is like walking into a world museum, according to one friend of the actress who says: "They've always said that they want their children to be citizens of the world and they're starting that education young.

"Angie wants her kids to grow up understanding the world they live in and she and Brad are starting where it counts - at home.

"It's definitely not your typical American family."

That's no understatement. The couple - who have homes in LA and New Orleans - have taken control of almost every aspect of their children's lives in a bid to make them truly international citizens.

Everything from their education and meals to even playtime is planned to the last detail, leading some observers to dub the family "Angelina's Benetton brood".

Their eldest boy, five-year-old Maddox, who Angelina adopted from Cambodia in 2002, goes to a normal school, but he also has tutors on hand to teach him his native language.

BECAUSE of his mum's globetrotting lifestyle, Maddox's teachers often accompany him and his sisters - two-year-old Zahara (or "Zee") and 10-month-old Shiloh - all over the world.

"Angelina has decided she doesn't want her children to be just American kids," adds the friend of the 31-year-old Tomb Raider actress.

"The children are being taught their own languages and about their own cultures as well. The most important thing is that Brad and Angelina make learning fun.

"They are certain that all the kids will get enough exposure to American culture just by living in the US and interacting with other American kids at school."

It means the couple's only biological child, Shiloh, who was born in Namibia last May, will learn about both African and US cultures - as will Zahara, who was adopted in Ethiopia in 2005.

Even what the kids eat reflects Brad and Angelina's views. Children's fast food favourites like hamburgers, French fries and sugary soft drinks are out, with the emphasis placed on grains, salads and vegetables instead.

"Angelina makes a point to feed her kids all different types of foods," continues the friend.

"She goes to an Asian market in LA to stock up on noodles, dumplings, seaweed and sushi. She even goes out of her way to buy fruit native to Asia.

"They love eating together as a family. At tea time, Zee sits in her high chair, putting her hands in her spaghetti - her favourite dish - and it goes all over her, in her hair, all over the floor. She sits there playing with it while Brad and Angie just let her. They say, 'Aw, Zee's happy' and leave her to it. They think it"s letting her be expressive."

Angelina in particular holds strong opinions about allowing the children to "express their personalities". And if that means breaking some parenting rules then so be it.

As the friend says: "Angelina says she doesn't want to restrict Maddox in any way. He wears what he wants, no matter what that may be.

"One day last year, Angelina took him along to a photoshoot she was doing in Paris to advertise sunglasses.

Maddox decided he wanted to be a wolf. By the end of the day a bunch of adoring make-up artists had painted his face with make-up, streaked his hair white blond and painted his nails white and black to turn him into a wolf. He was running around and howling. Ange just smiled."

When not filming, Brad and Angelina are often spotted in a small LA suburb dubbed Little Ethiopia, picking up CDs of traditional Ethiopian music.

Their distinctly unconventional tastes are reflected in the New Orleans home they bought for £1.8million cash in January.

Located in the city's French Quarter and fitted with a huge spiral staircase, lift, gourmet kitchen and two-storey guesthouse.

It is already filled with bookcases stuffed with language books covering everything from Mandarin, Tagalong and Russian.

"Brad also bought a huge globe and a world atlas which are in the living room," says one friend. "As for religion, he and Angelina are exposing them to just about everything - Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Hindi.

"Angie says they are going to leave it up to the kids to decide which religion they are most comfortable with."

AS Angelina, who was appointed a UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2001, says: "We want each kid to know their country's religions and to feel some responsibility.

"We'd like to have a base in the States but I'd like to have a base somewhere else, too. I'd love to send the kids to an international school and live in the middle of nowhere in Africa or Asia, just coming in for work."

Twice-married Angelina is renowned for her bohemian lifestyle, but their existence is a world away from 43-year-old Brad's small-town upbringing in Missouri.

Despite this, the star of hit movies including Fight Club and Se7en is taking fatherhood extremely seriously. He prepares meals for the children and enjoys quad biking with Maddox and playing with remote-controlled cars.

"Brad's taken a few cooking lessons so he could learn how to prepare foods from different parts of the world," says the friend.

"Angelina wears the trousers in the relationship and Brad is happy to go along with anything that will make her happy.

"She's quite a tempestuous person and there are times when they have the odd argument, but despite what some people have been saying, they're madly in love."

Angelina's temper is said to have erupted during the adoption of Pax when the exasperated actress repeatedly woke up Brad in America with phone calls.

"He very much wanted her to wait until he was through with the movie he was filming, but she just went right ahead with signing the adoption papers. Brad said to her, 'Angie, you just never follow the script'."

She ended up having to defend her decision to adopt again to local reporters, telling them: "Everyone would agree that children need to have a family. I have the ability to help children to fulfil that desire - why should I say no?"

Certainly her and Brad's new Louisiana home has been decorated with their brood in mind.

The children share a huge bedroom, specially designed by their father, a budding architect.

Dominated by a world map with their native countries marked, it is also adorned by trinkets from the places the youngsters were born - including a painting by renowned Ethiopian artist Afework Tekle.

Angelina hopes that bringing up her children in such an international household will see one of them will grow up to be a UN ambassador.

It is into this strange but loving home that a young lad from Ho Chi Minh City will be welcomed in the next few weeks.

Angelina Jolie Lands in Hanoi for Son's Visa

Angelina Jolie is one step closer to bringing her new son, Pax Thien, home from Vietnam.

The actress, 31, flew to Hanoi on Monday to complete the procedures necessary to bring the 3-year-old back with her to the United States, the Associated Press reports. The two had spent a quiet weekend in Ho Chi Minh City.

On Tuesday, Jolie is expected to meet with U.S. Embassy officials to deal with the visa application for Pax.

Once the visa is issued, she will be able to take him to America. She is expected to leave Hanoi on Wednesday, according to the AP.

Once in the U.S., Pax, whom Jolie adopted from the Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, will join new siblings Maddox, 5 (who accompanied Jolie to Vietnam), Zahara, 2, and 10-month-old Shiloh, as well as Jolie's partner, Brad Pitt.(SOURCE)
